Village Council is pleased to announce that a main street upgrade project has been approved for implementation in 2010. The project includes removal and replacement of the existing road surface and sidewalks, replacement of underground infrastructure where necessary, improved drainage including environmentally friendly rain gardens to remove run off, a center median, and a pleasing streetscape design.

The sewer system upgrade involves removing Lake Street Lift Station and the installation of a sewer main on 46 Avenue and upgrades to the Rahr Park Lift Station.

The total cost of the project is $3,200,000.00. The funding for the project is as follows:

Capital reserves $610,000
Grants $1,663,034
Debenture $926,966

The debenture is to be repayable to the Alberta Capital Finance Authority in forty (40) equal consecutive semi annual installments of combined principal and interest, the semi annual interest not to exceed four decimal four six two per centum (4.462%), or the interest rate as fixed from time to time by the Alberta Capital Finance Authority;
